As well as getting £400 off a newer boiler, people taking advantage of this offer can also potentially save more money in the long run by saving in lower energy usage from using the new A rated boiler.
The boiler scrappage initiative had capped funding and aimed to serve up to 100,000+ homes, swapping the most energy deficient boilers with newer ones.
As you can imagine, the amount of people signing up to see if they qualify has been through the roof, but there is no word yet as to whether the budget will be expanded when all the newer boilers have been installed. To be honest, £400 doesn't really seem like a lot considering the amount of money it is to replace an old boiler with a new one (still going to have to pay out £1000 - £2000), but at least its something.
